Capital Projects & Construction
Thank you to our community for approving the $15 million GO Bond to lift our older schools to a higher level and voting to continue your support of the Mill Levies (SB9 & HB33). This site will be continually updated with important capital improvement & construction projects throughout the Alamogordo Public Schools District.
Building a better future for all our students
Because of the support of our community, we are getting to work on important projects that will improve our student environments!
With the approval of the 2023 general obligation bond & additional funding, including mill levy funds, Alamogordo Public Schools will be able to invest in our older campuses lifting them to a higher level that is more comparable to our new schools.
Areas of investment include Safety & Security, Outdoor Learning & Playgrounds, Internal Learning Environments, Athletics, Technology and Building Systems.
This is just the start!
The $15 million general obligation bond that was passed by voters in May 2023 provides capital improvement funding for the next 4 years. The results of the geotechnical studies at the existing Chaparral site and the site proposed on Fairgrounds Road were found to be very similar. The building planning required to account for the soil composition at the Fairgrounds site is the same planning that is required at the existing Chaparral site, and no modifications to the land preparation were required with the relocation of the school to the original school site.
